ESSENTIAL PREGNANCY SERVICES BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPOINTS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

(Omaha, NE) – Essential Pregnancy Services (EPS), now celebrating its 50th anniversary year in support of women experiencing unexpected or under-supported pregnancies in the Omaha metro, has selected Kerri Gilson as its new Executive Director in lieu of Laura Buddenberg’s planned retirement. Gilson will officially begin her tenure on Feb. 6, 2023.

The selection for the EPS Executive Director position was made after a national search and extensive selection process. Gilson will be responsible for articulating, advancing and promoting the vision and mission of EPS. Additionally, the Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, financial management, development and fundraising, and day-to-day operations of the organization.

“We are thrilled to announce Kerri as the new Executive Director of EPS. With 27 years of professional nursing experience and over 30 years of support for pro-life work and ministries, we have confidence in her command of the pro-life landscape. Kerri will lead a team of approximately 30 staff, in addition to championing the efforts of the EPS Auxiliary and many more volunteers,” says Board President Kim Volpone. ”On behalf of the EPS Board of Directors, we welcome Kerri and look forward to working alongside her in protection of the unborn and to uphold the dignity of women as we meet their pregnancy and parenting needs.”

Gilson holds a Bachelor of Science-Nursing, a Master of Science- Nurse Executive, a Board Certification in Nursing Professional Development, is a Certified Global Gallup Strengths Coach, and held a previous Board Certification as a Pediatric Nurse. She has professional experience in multiple settings across the healthcare and business continuum including hospital, clinic, home health, private duty, employee health and wellness, and more.

On assuming her new role, Gilson shares, “It is an honor and privilege to be chosen to lead such an amazing, life-giving organization. My desire is to work and live a purposeful life while honoring God’s design for human beings – born and unborn – from conception to natural death.”
